Technology has seen the upcoming GMC Hummer EV which will be soon on the market. The GMC Hummer EV is a vehicle that has been created with safety in mind and this is shown by it being a Jeep SUV that has been customized for electric use.

Features

1) DC, AC, and Solar Charging

The GMC Hummer EV is charged by a high-voltage DC charger and an optional AC charger. The DC charger plugs into a standard wall outlet whereas the optional AC charger plugs into a 110/220-volt dryer outlet or another similar nearby outlet available to it. It can also be recharged using off-the-grid methods such as solar charging. If solar charging is used, the vehicle will take up to 40 hours to reach a full charge but this could be significantly reduced with the use of a solar array.

2) Fast Charging Capabilities

The GMC Hummer EV can charge to 80% of its battery capacity in only 10 minutes, which is faster than most other electric cars. The vehicle charges at 90-240 volts and the charging process is completed at 10 amps.

3) Driving Range & MPG

The GMC Hummer EV has a driving range of up to 180 miles on a single charge and can achieve an average of about 75 mpg. For long trips, the driver can take advantage of the optional all-electric mode, which doesn’t use gasoline but instead runs off the battery’s electric power alone.

4) User-Friendly Control Panel

The GMC Hummer EV’s advanced control system is located on the dashboard where it can be controlled using a simple dial layout and by a wiper switch. When the driver chooses to switch from full-electric mode to conventional fuel use, the vehicle takes only about three seconds to begin driving again.

5) Low Maintenance Costs

The GMC Hummer EV has a very low maintenance cost, this is because its electric engine is designed for low speed and minimal power use and because its battery pack does not have to be replaced as frequently as other electric vehicles. The battery pack in an electric car usually lasts 10 years or more before it needs replacing.
